Can a solo founder build sustainably?
Start with a clear first delivery rather than trying to do every product task at once.

In this article
Building a product alone can feel freeing. It also combines product decisions, design, implementation, content and support. This is a starting framework for managing scope, rather than a promise of entrepreneurial success.
Choose a first delivery
Describe a solution that helps one user group complete one task. What does the first screen show, which action does the user take and what result appears? Clarify those questions before growing the feature list.
Make time visible
Separate product decisions, implementation and review. Counting only coding time hides content preparation and feedback work. Choose an amount you can sustain in a week; every new idea does not need to become an active task immediately.
Connect feedback to a decision
A compliment is different from evidence that a product supports its target task. Watch someone attempt that task and ask where they hesitate. After making a small change, revisit the same flow.
Design your own boundaries
Writing down what you will not build yet is a product decision too. Consider support hours, maintenance and external service costs. Sustainability depends on managing boundaries consistently rather than trying to cover everything.
